it snowed a little

So it dumped like 5 feet here in the last 3 days, we went on two urban hunting missions and I didn't land a single trick, kinda bummed about that.

The first was a wall ride we set up and we were trying to tow each other in with the car but couldn't get the speed in the small amount of space we had. So we called our friend and she brought her subaru. It was now much easier to get the speed. I was the one driving and each time I went the guys were telling me to go faster and faster. so finally I gunned it. Jordan was stoked he got all the way up the wall and it woulda been sick, if I hadn't crashed the car into a fence on that run. The fog light was completely shattered and there were some scratches on the bumper. All in all I was wayyyy less damage than I had expected. At first I thought I had totaled the car so needless to say when i saw how little damage there was I was pretty relieved but still shaken up.

The next feature we went to hit was a long flat rail. At first we thought we would need a bungee to hit it but that turned out to not be enough speed so we tied a few ropes together and tied one end to the truck and looped it through the rail. it was working well got us plenty of speed. However, the rope did brake 5 different times and everyone was having a little trouble getting the hang of the rail. After a few runs woody got to the end, then sponzo got it, then danny showed up after dinner and got it first try, and finally jordan got pretty close to the end. By the end of the night everyone had gotten to the end of the rail once except for me. I fucking blew it. I was getting down on myself and hurting bad. The crew was cold and tired so they called it off. I felt like I let people down it was a bummer.

In general, as these missions go, its usually hit or miss. this time I missed pretty hard and its a rough way to start the season but I will push through it. As for all that snow that just fell, well I hope to be taking advantage of all the great backcountry advice I have been getting from my new roommates very soon.

Special thanks to Conor and Danny Toumarkine, Moss Halladay, Ian Mcleod, Kevin Corcoran, Woody, Jeff Sponzo, Jordan Wells and especially Amanda Fronts for being so cool about me breaking her car.

Stay tuned for more fun!
