Dew Tour Over... Sad Face

As I look out the window of my buddy Ryan Dee's apartment here in Breckenridge, I am wondering when I will return to Colorado. I had a great time here and I know now and in the future it will never be enough. Like Tahoe CO will always be on my list of places to go just because of the amazing terrain and wonderful people.

Off to the east coast now, I only about a week over there but I have much to do! ill be in NH to shoot some street stuff with Steez Magazine, and again to shoot with Brian Nevins on who knows what. Then I'll be in VT to work with Status on some stuff for there website. I hear my local mountain Lost Valley has become all freestyle terrain so I may go check that out. I must go shred with my homies at Sunday River. And oh yeah this little thing called christmas with my family, still haven't done my shopping :(. So much to do so little time.

DEW TOUR!

Breck is great! Unfortunately i did not get into the Dew Tour (FRIGGEN A!) but I am having a blast in CO. Already I have been in 3 diff hot tubs and 4 different terrain parks. I hit my head the other day by overshooting a jump and I sorta revived my concussion that I got earlier this year at Boreal. My brain is sensative, and doesn't feel too good. Tomorrow Danny is competing in the qualifier for the Dew Tour, Im going up the hill to cheer him on and help film all the sick riding. practice has been kinda rough on everyone with snow all day today and limited speed for the jumps. In slightly more depressing news Skyler Thomas became injured before the Grand Prix and was forced to drop out of the Rev Tour and Dew Tour as well. Skyler was on his way to slaying these contests and is super bummed on his predicament. Im planning on partying this weekend and maybe film some mega jumps myself at Keystone!

Getting Stoked On Upcoming Events.

Well, tonight I had a great meal after work, and then I relaxed at thought; I have a lot to do my last week in Tahoe until 2011. The crunch time is here. I'm not in the Dew Tour but I am going to cheer on Danny Toumarkine and see some old friends in Breck. I need money to do this and I am working a few pretty sick angles to get it. Without working more than 3 days on my job I will be leaving for a month before I return to coaching at Northstar. My bank account has less money in it than the floor of my jeep and I couldn't be more stoked about my current situation.

YAHHHH DOOOOD!

The next few weeks should be fun, and I'm going to miss Tahoe. I do however take comfort in that fact that the next time I see this place it will be the epic winter wonderland I have always dreamed about. Stayed tuned for next week when I will be in Breck.

Holy Quadruple Backflips Batman!

Hundreds of thousands of hits in only a few days this is gonna be our biggest video to date!
Are you cooler than Mike?

suprise suprise another sick day at Northstar

Went up for a few park runs off Vista today. Pinball is shaping up to be a fun park 9 jibs, 2 jumps and one hip super fun way to start up my season and get some practice in. I met up with James the director of the freestyle coaching team at Northstar and he has offered me a part time job when I return from Montana in January. James took a few laps with Danny and I and we all had some good laughs about the crazy weather at Northstar today, rain/sleet/snow all mixed together and the snow was slowwwww but everyday is a rad time when you're with good people. Stay tuned for more fun the Dew Tour trip is coming up in a few weeks and then I get to go back east for xmas and we will round off the holiday travels with a sick shred trip to Montana with the Shreddy Times crew for New Years!!

Shredding at Northstar!

Today, my friend Christian and I slayed it at Northstar all day. Christian is still a bit hurt from a bad fall on a stair set he had at Boreal about a month ago. However despite his pain he charged the little features in pinball like a champ. We managed to get a few fun shots of us riding the line and skimming the trees off to the side. still plenty of good snow waiting for us even on our last few runs around 2:30 in the afternoon. Its amazing what little surprises Northstar's backside had in store for us and we still have plenty of work to do on the little jib line in the park. Check out the latest Shredit that dropped for Shreddy Times and a little somethin' special from Mike Wilson, neither of which have anything to do with the story I just shared with you.

it snowed a little

So it dumped like 5 feet here in the last 3 days, we went on two urban hunting missions and I didn't land a single trick, kinda bummed about that.

The first was a wall ride we set up and we were trying to tow each other in with the car but couldn't get the speed in the small amount of space we had. So we called our friend and she brought her subaru. It was now much easier to get the speed. I was the one driving and each time I went the guys were telling me to go faster and faster. so finally I gunned it. Jordan was stoked he got all the way up the wall and it woulda been sick, if I hadn't crashed the car into a fence on that run. The fog light was completely shattered and there were some scratches on the bumper. All in all I was wayyyy less damage than I had expected. At first I thought I had totaled the car so needless to say when i saw how little damage there was I was pretty relieved but still shaken up.

The next feature we went to hit was a long flat rail. At first we thought we would need a bungee to hit it but that turned out to not be enough speed so we tied a few ropes together and tied one end to the truck and looped it through the rail. it was working well got us plenty of speed. However, the rope did brake 5 different times and everyone was having a little trouble getting the hang of the rail. After a few runs woody got to the end, then sponzo got it, then danny showed up after dinner and got it first try, and finally jordan got pretty close to the end. By the end of the night everyone had gotten to the end of the rail once except for me. I fucking blew it. I was getting down on myself and hurting bad. The crew was cold and tired so they called it off. I felt like I let people down it was a bummer.

In general, as these missions go, its usually hit or miss. this time I missed pretty hard and its a rough way to start the season but I will push through it. As for all that snow that just fell, well I hope to be taking advantage of all the great backcountry advice I have been getting from my new roommates very soon.

Special thanks to Conor and Danny Toumarkine, Moss Halladay, Ian Mcleod, Kevin Corcoran, Woody, Jeff Sponzo, Jordan Wells and especially Amanda Fronts for being so cool about me breaking her car.

Stay tuned for more fun!

Early Season Shred! Shreddy Times

This is where my winter will happen!

Welcome to the blog of Will Mayo. I will be sharing my adventures out west with who ever wants to see em. If you like a good story, or wanna see some action this might be a good stop. If you don't like my goofy, hyperactive, spastic and risky lifestyle, then you don't have to watch. That being said this blog is going to focus on a little thing I love to share with my friends called snowboarding. There will be pictures videos and stories galore, all themed to my life moto: SHREDWISE.

The two pillars of my education in college were hands on learning for yourself and learning from the experiences of others (more or less). I have sort of twisted this mentality to fit my lifestyle as a snowboarder: SHRED to learn for yourself, get out of your element and never stop pushing your limits, and be WISE about what you do, don't make stupid decisions, listen to your buddies they know whats up 'cus they have been there before...hopefully.

Stay tuned for some videos of early season shredding up at Mt. Rose Right here in good 'ol TAHOE CALIFORNIA!
